“America’s thousands of community papers are as healthy as their communities,” writes Robert Williams, Jr., publisher of newspapers in Georgia and president of the National Newspaper Association representing nearly 2,000 newspapers. He wrote in an editorial page column in the Daily Herald that “Newspapers are alive and lively. Our communities shrivel and die when there is no newspaper. He added that technology and “The Internet isn’t going to kill us. It’s giving us new tools to work better, faster and smarter.”
