The Chicago Journalists Association is pleased to announce that its 2015 scholarship recipient, Tyler Davis, has been selected as the Chicago Tribune’s summer metro intern.

He will begin the internship in June and will contribute to the crime and breaking news beats, feature stories and gathering research.
“This is a dream come true,” said Davis, who is a senior at Southern Illinois University. “To work and report on the city I grew up near is an amazing opportunity.”
Davis has already completed internships at the Peoria Journal Star and Sporting News Media in North Carolina. Since winning CJA’s $1,000 scholarship in October, he has joined the organization’s associate board, which aims to provide college students and recent graduates opportunities to better connect with professional journalists.
“We are so happy and proud of Tyler,” said CJA secretary and associate board chairman, Stephanie Choporis. “We expect big things from him.”
